Neutral or gray colors

Neutral or broken or gray colors, are the mixtures of colors with their complementary, in different proportions. These colors are called gray, but it has nothing to do with the mixture of black and white, as I mentioned earlier.

When in paint it is said that a color is gray or neutralized, it means that it has some mixture with its complementary color.

These broken or neutral colors are very necessary to create color harmony, they are more muted and less contrasting. Although to generate contrast, for example, I can place saturated colors at the focal point of the work and neutralized or more muted colors in its surroundings, to enhance this point of interest by contrast.
